Getting the Right Fit

A properly fitted ring should feel secure without feeling tight. It should sit comfortably around the base of your finger while still being able to pass over your knuckle.

Your fingers can change slightly in size throughout the day depending on temperature, activity and other factors. For better accuracy, measure your finger several times instead of relying on a single measurement.

Our recommendation
If you are uncertain about your size, using a physical ring sizer is the most straightforward option.

METHOD 01 — RECOMMENDED

Use a Ring Sizer

A ring sizer is one of the easiest ways to determine your U.S. ring size accurately at home. The adjustable measuring belt wraps around your finger and allows you to check the fit before selecting your ring.

How to request a KING Ring Sizer
  1. On the product page, locate the Ring Size selection.
  2. If available, select “Not sure, send me a Ring Sizer”.
  3. Add the ring to your cart and complete your order as usual.
  4. We will send you a ring-sizing tool so you can measure your finger before your ring is prepared.
  5. Once you have measured your finger, provide us with your confirmed U.S. ring size.

How Tight Should the Ring Sizer Be?

Adjust it until it feels similar to how you would want your finished ring to fit. It should be snug enough that it does not fall off easily, but not so tight that it is uncomfortable.

Make sure the sizing loop can still move over your knuckle. If your knuckle is considerably wider than the base of your finger, take both measurements into consideration.

Measure More Than Once

Your fingers may be slightly smaller when cold and slightly larger when warm. Measure three to five times at different times of the day for greater confidence in your result.

METHOD 02

Measure an Existing Ring

Already have a ring that fits the intended finger well? Measuring its inside diameter can be an easy way to find the corresponding U.S. ring size.

1. Choose a Ring Use a ring that already fits the correct finger comfortably.
2. Measure Inside Measure straight across the widest inside part of the ring in millimetres.
3. Compare Match your measurement to the diameter column in our chart below.

Measure only the inside diameter. Do not include the thickness of the ring itself.

METHOD 03

Measure Your Finger With Paper or String

If you do not have a ring sizer or an existing ring, you can estimate your finger circumference using a narrow strip of paper or a non-stretchy piece of string.

  1. Wrap the paper or string around the base of the finger where the ring will sit.
  2. Keep it comfortably snug without pulling it too tightly.
  3. Mark the exact point where the two ends meet.
  4. Lay it flat against a ruler.
  5. Measure the length in millimetres and compare it with the inside circumference column in the chart below.
Important: Avoid stretchy string, as stretching can result in an inaccurate measurement and a ring that is too large.

FIT CHECK

How Do I Know My Ring Size Is Correct?

The ideal fit is secure but comfortable. Your ring should not slide off easily, but you should still be able to remove it over your knuckle without excessive force.

Too Loose

The ring spins excessively or can easily slip over your knuckle.

Good Fit

Comfortable at the base of the finger with slight resistance over the knuckle.

Too Tight

Feels uncomfortable or is difficult to move over the knuckle.

BETWEEN TWO SIZES?

Choosing Between Ring Sizes

Ring sizes increase gradually, and approximately 0.4 mm of inside diameter is around half a U.S. ring size.

If your measurement falls between two available sizes, the slightly larger size is often more comfortable, particularly for wider rings or fingers with larger knuckles.

Remember: Some KING ring designs may only be available in full sizes. Always check the size options shown on the individual product page.

QUICK CONVERSION

Millimetres to Centimetres

Ring measurements are normally shown in millimetres because the differences between sizes are small.

To convert millimetres to centimetres, simply divide by 10.

Example:
50 mm = 5.0 cm
60 mm = 6.0 cm

BUYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

Measure a Ring They Already Wear

If the ring is a surprise, borrow a ring they already wear on the intended finger and measure its inside diameter. This can give you a useful size reference without having to measure their finger directly.

  • Measure the finger more than once.
  • Consider the size of your knuckle as well as the base of your finger.
  • Do not pull paper or string too tightly when measuring.
